Follow the ease, the ease of the stream, the breeze, and the sand. They make no enemies. They meet no obstacles, nor search for remedies for inflicted wounds. They merely find new paths to groom.

The stubborn mind pulses. Grudges held in clutches. Muscles contract, lungs collapse, minds distract, rage reacts.
And then silly suffering ensues.

If only we knew how to let go.
If only we knew to follow the blood that seeps determined. Follow the blood that returns to the heart. Find the truth in your beating chest. Rest.
It’s all a test.
Finding stillness is still best.

But we fear the grip of promised lands fleeting from our hands.
Yet we never realize it was never ours to grasp.
We pass through. Like the stream, the breeze, the blood, and the sand.
There is no I wish. There is simply what was meant for you.
~
And what was meant for you was only placed there for you to keep safe.
For you to be a guardian, a steward, a whisper to care for.
Nothing more.
And that’s beauty too.

See, I believe I am here, you are here, we are here to pay attention.
Pay attention to what life places before us.
And in return, it curiously looks at what we can do with what is given.
What can we do with what is given?
Shall we call that living?
Commentary:
I always marvel at nature’s effectiveness. The path of least resistance. A stream of water simply meanders around objects. Over centuries perhaps cuts through. But we - including me - choose the hard road. Over and over. In our minds, in our lives, in our choices. This poem serves as a gentle reminder to look at nature and see what ease we can learn from her.

Guuuuuuuuhhhhhhh. Yes, I just made that exact sound out loud.
I'd call it a guttural sigh, the only sound I can muster that encompasses both admiration for your words and the pain of being called out.
I take this as a much-needed reminder of the gift that is paying attention, trusting, and surrendering to the most natural path! <3
Finding stillness is still best. I imagine the ocean has been teaching you a lot huh?
