Bask like bark in the sun.
Let rays radiate cracks on your skin.
May your day begin, with warming the crevices
Of where your moodiness resides.
Get drunk on melancholic gratitude.
Touch the ether with your frequency.
And welcome the earth’s turn.
As it’s your turn too.
Commentary:
This shot is from a misty morning sunrise, December 2021 in Sideman, Bali. A trip with 3 men dear to me: Neil, Nick, and Blue. A weekend spent in stillness and laughter. In nature and nurture. And in reflection of the choice that life presents us every day: How we wake determines our pace and peace.
As nothing human is foreign to me, I too have mornings where moodiness is a weighted blanket too heavy to lift. That’s okay. For there are other days on the horizon. Today and this picture on Mount Agung, serve as a reminder for Henley’s - Invictus: “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul”.
I like the prayer like nature of this piece. :)
